Shaping the Next Wichita Course: Starting With Our Members

Earlier this year, ACDGC member Brad McBride reached out to the Air Capital Disc Golf Club with a simple question:
“How can I help?”

What started as that message has grown into one of the most exciting projects our club has taken on in years.

After months of walking parks, drafting ideas, and working closely with the City of Wichita, we’re excited to announce:

The City of Wichita has approved four parks for temporary disc golf layouts as part of our new Build-A-Course Project.

We can’t thank Brad enough. He has put in a tremendous amount of time and effort to bring this project to life.

But here’s the big thing:

These layouts are NOT permanent. Not final. And not “the design.”

They are simply a tool - a starting point - to help us explore what each park could become.

He stepped up, volunteered, and did the work needed to get this project off the ground.
Anyone who puts in that kind of effort is welcome to contribute and this time, Brad did. What an absolute stud!

Now, it’s your turn.

Members Get First Dibs

Flights League players will be the first people to play each temporary course.
As ACDGC members, your feedback will determine which park we pursue as Wichita’s next permanent course.

This is one of the biggest membership benefits we’ve ever offered:
Your voice directly shapes the future of disc golf in this city.

When you play these layouts, don’t just judge the holes in front of you.
Look at the entire park: the terrain, the flow, the space, the possibilities.

Some holes might eventually stay.
Some might be totally redesigned.
A professional designer may even be involved later.

But none of that can happen without your feedback.

Community Input Comes Next

After ACDGC members get first dibs on Thursday nights, each course will reopen to the general public during the PDGA League run by ACDGC Vice President Philip Campa the following Saturday.

You must play his league to play the course.
Membership is not required on Saturdays, so anyone can participate, play the layout, and share their feedback.
